Please email the UKC asking they continue the DOG SPORTS
program. The following is an example letter. If you are
uncomfortable in scripting your own letter, please feel free to copy or
modify the following example:
Example Letter:
I am writing regarding the recent news of the UKC cancelling the Dog
Sports program. I sincerely hope that the UKC can re-evaluate this
decision. The UKC must be complimented for its pioneering vision in
creating such a program acknowledging the protective instincts and
abilities of our family dogs. The honor of recognition these UKC titles
give in appearing on pedigrees truly proves your motto of “Our Dogs
Do Stuff”. The guidelines of the UKC Dog Sports program are already
in place. Please give thought to continuing this marvelous program
under the sponsorship of another group of organized dog sport
competitors/veterans. I believe it would expand and flourish as the
UKC desires if given another chance under different management.
The UCK mission to “create performance events in which dogs can
prove their instincts and heritage” should continue to highlight and
recognize the dog’s oldest job… protecting family and home! Please
continue the UKC Dog Sports program.
